Artistic  Actions and Installations in Campus de Cantoblanco (UAM).

IInd  International Conference of Sound and Audiovisual Spaces,  2nd-5th December, 2014. Universidad Autónoma de Madrid

This IInd Conference on Sound and Audiovisual Spaces is interested in receiving proposals of actions and artistic and research installations, with the purpose of exploring spaces and daily experiences. There is an intention of showing and developing theories, methods and ways of knowledge and understanding on urban spaces starting from proposals of individual and collective settings arisen from artistic research and practice. The settings will take place in defined spaces located at Campus de Cantoblanco as much as outdoors as indoors.

We invite musicians / artists / researchers / groups / architects interested to set a short description of the actions, installations, performances… that can be developed in situ in UAM  Campus, with the supervision and support of the organization committee during the IInd  International Conference of Sound and Audiovisual Spaces.

Proposals

The proposals can be sent either in Spanish or in English including an easy description of an installation, action or setting. The duration of the actions requiring the use of public collective space will take from 15 to 30 minutes. A proposal can be based on an electroacustic sound or audiovisual installation of a longer duration for specific places.

The description can include texts, images, maps, video in a written page including:  

1. The title of the action. Name and occupation of the groups, people and institutions.
2. Objectives and description of daily situations and urban resonances, as a central point to be

     highlighted. Theories and concepts.

3. Description and instructions for the action. Type of space and moment, number of participants.
4. Technological requirements. Since the design of an activity can be connected with daily experiences and urban spaces, the actions could only require as technological elements the present ones in daily spaces. For some permanent sound and audiovisual settings, some devices for playing such as audio or video sets will be available (only indoors, as there is only a room for audiovisual shows).

The Evaluation Committee is the Scientific Committee of the II nd International Conference of Sound and Audiovisual Spaces
